Ann Hagedorn presents “Why Be A Journalist” at 4 p.m. in Bishop Hall Living Room today!

“I’d really like to encourage those of you thinking hard about journalism as a career to attend Ann Hagedorn’s talk this afternoon …”

“A 2012 Scholar-in-Residence at Miami, she discusses various aspects of  journalism and her newest book project on the private military industry.  An award-winning author of five narrative nonfiction books, including one just completed in February 2012, Hagedorn is a graduate of Columbia University’s School of Journalism. She has worked at the San Jose Mercury News, the New York Daily News,and the Wall Street Journal.  Her books have been widely reviewed and featured, with coverage by the New York Times, USA Today, Fortune, NPR and the New York Review of Books. At Miami this semester, Hagedorn is co-teaching a course in investigative journalism.”
